Cindy Babcock

Cindy Babcock (b. 1952) is a mosaic and mixed media artist living and working in Los Angeles. For over 20 years, her practice has been informed by a deep love and reverence for the creative process. Working with stained glass, smalti and semi-precious gem stones, Babcock builds worlds through the interplay between color, light and dimension. She is especially inspired by travel and has visited the Orsoni Smalti Factory in Venice, Italy, where she observed Italian artisans craft and shape the smalti itself. Drawn towards the earthen hues of the deserts and mountains of the American Southwest, Babcock creates each piece with intention and care. She is happiest in her studio and loves sharing her process with others.
